Product Description
The RegScrub program is to help developers control heir registry entries. When you compile an ActiveX component in Visual Basic, it makes registry entries. If your component is set to Project Compatibility, then every compile will make more entries. RegScrub will find all registry entries for a component, which is usually made of several classes. Every class entry has associated TypeLib entries and Interface entries. On compiles, the class entries get overwritten, but the TypeLib and Interface entries do not.
When a class in the delete queue is purged from the registry, all keys, values, subkeys, and subvalues are purged as well including entries from the following registry branches:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Interface HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\TypeLib
CAUTION: This tool is for advanced users and could cause problems with other software if used incorrectly.
